Activities
One benefit of being involved in the UPPA is sending your child off to Kindergarten knowing they are already friends with half of the kids in their class. UPPA Playgroups help make that happen! Moms and kids can get involved right away and start making new friends. For more information or to join a group, please contact our Playgroup Coordinator. New playgroups will continue to be formed throughout the school year.
Playgroups
Help your children meet the families they will be attending Kindergarten with, and enjoy fellowship with area Moms. Contact Playgroups for more information.
UPPA Hospitality Committee
The UPPA hospitality committee supports UPPA moms who are:
- Expecting or have a new baby;
- Dealing with a loss of a family member; or
- Recovering from a medical procedure
If you would like to help these moms and their families, please join the Hospitality Committee - your commitment can be as small or large as you want-even simply taking one meal a year!
Additionally, we want to welcome each new UP mom with preschool-aged kids to our great community and organization. If you know of a mom that could use some help, have a new neighbor, or would like to help, please email: The Hospitality Hotline
UPPA Mom's Night Out
Leave the kids at home with Dad and meet us for a well deserved Mom's Night Out! About once a month the UPPA members get together for an entirely social evening. It's a great way to meet other UPPA members and relax for an hour or two.
Each month a different activity is planned - we do everything from catching a chick flick together, to pajama parties (complete with chair massage!), to shopping together! Regardless of where we are, there's always good company, good eats and good libations. Join us!
UPPA Forum
This member-only message board was started just last year and has already made an impact on our members' ability to connect and share timely information about our community. Once you join UPPA, you will receive access to the forum on this site. When you join, you will be able to post messages and read messages posted by other members. Helpful information such as nannies or housekeepers who are available, neighborhood events for the family, houses for sale, recommendations for craftspeople like plumbers or electricians, advice on childrearing, updates on UP elementary activities, volunteer opportunities and employment opportunities -- these are just a few examples of the types of helpful information posted on the site. Join the UPPA today and start benefiting from the insight and expertise of 200 other UP moms via our forum.
Children's Parties and Activities
We hope you'll join us for wonderful seasonal Children's Parties celebrating Halloween and Easter, and our Read for Fun Event in conjunction with the UP Library. Contact Children's Activities for more information.
